Despite her conservative base she is very liberal in her beliefs: she has been a practicing vegan since age 13 and supports same-sex marriages. Also several of her songs openly espouse revenge and violence:
*"Before He Cheats" is about a woman who, after finding her boyfriend cheating on her, vandalizes his truck.
*"Blown Away" features a woman who leaves her abusive, drunkard father to die in the path of an oncoming tornado.
*"Two Black Cadillacs" is about a wife who discovers his mistress' number on his phone; she discovers that the mistress was unaware he was married, and the two work together to kill him. (The video is heavily based on the work of Stephen King, known for his borderline occult writings; Carrie is a fan of his work.)
*"Church Bells" is about an abused wife who poisons her husband to escape the marriage.
