Howard is a devout [[Christian]] and often gives thanks to [[God]] for his successes.<ref>http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=1769153</ref> But despite his "Christian" image, Howard has also fathered five children by five different women and has never married any of them, in most cases requiring the mothers to sign gag orders keeping his paternity quiet in exchange for child support. He has further had repeated run-ins with team ownership, coaches, and players (though run-ins with outspoken Kobe Bryant are one thing, run-ins with the usually quiet James Harden are another), making him an undesirable teammate.
