Due to the anger displayed, weapons can be and are used; drivers have been known to pull out guns or knives; crowbars, tools, baseball bats and tree branches have also been employed as weapons, and there have been incidents in which the car itself has been used.  The tragic results are damged vehicles, injured or killed people, and the perpetrators spending many years to life in prison.  Of course, it must be admitted that if the other driver were carrying a legally owned gun, many if not all of these events could be prevented.
