The Intro is quite lengthy; IMO generally speaking, Intros should be kept short and sweet - a summary of the contents below, with "teasers," so to speak. Detailed and lengthy Intros could actually discourage delving any further into the contents. I think the contrast with the GOP can be achieved either by clicking on the [[GOP]] link, and/or put in a subsections. This is actually the Democratic Party article and should focus on it's ideology and history.
