In the Spring of 2017 Laufman negotiated a failed immunity deal for [[Julian Assange]]. [[Adam Waldman]] contacted [[Bruce Ohr]] to arrange negotiations. The deal was nixed by [[James Comey]].

The deal would have allowed Assange to leave the [[Ecuador]] [[Embassy]] in [[London]] and travel to [[Washington, D.C.]] to give testimony in the multitude of budding Congressional investigations into alleged [[Russia]]n hacking of the [[Democratic National Committee]] servers. Assange always denied that he received [[John Podesta]] and DNC emails from Russian, instead offering a $25,000 reward for the capture and conviction of the murderers of [[Seth Rich]], whom he alluded to on [[Dutch]] television as [[Wikileaks]] source of DNC emails.
