The movement was founded by David Bereit in 2004 in [[Bryan, Texas|Bryan]]/[[College Station, Texas]] (after [[Planned Parenthood]] opened an abortion facility in the area), the 40 Days for Life campaigns have proven very fruitful.  Some of the blessings the group associates with the campaign (statistics are as of the end of the 2017 campaign and are based on information known to the organization):

The movement was founded by David Bereit in 2004 in [[Bryan, Texas|Bryan]]/[[College Station, Texas]] (after [[Planned Parenthood]] opened an abortion facility in the area), the 40 Days for Life campaigns have proven very fruitful.  Although the majority of the leadership is Catholic, it is not solely a Catholic organization, but is broadly ecumenical, working with Orthodox and Protestants for the pro-life cause.
