India is a subcontinent & civilization located in modern day [[Asia]]. It spans from the Himalayas in the north to the Indian ocean. The name "India" came from the word "Hindu" which was used to describe the Sindhu river (now known as the Indus).It borders China, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. It had three wars with Pakistan over the disputed territory territory. Both India, Pakistan and China are now nuclear powers. Pakistan is now the US ally against terrorism. They speak Hindu and look the same, but India is majority Muslim and Pakistan is majority Hindu.
