He was arrested for truancy in France. He tried to establish a Christian state religion when he was president but Hamilton tricked him into writing that he was against the role of the Church and the State. We have no statements from Jefferson that he even advocated the seperation of Church and States. The quotes were added by cannabilistic ungrateful liberals in order to convert Jefferson to a liberal, though we know that his philosophy completely diverges from liberalism.
