The modern atheistic and egalitarian envy of genuine greatness or admirable public moral rectitude impels many persons in the [[Media|public media]] to attempt to [[slander]] and [[libel]] anyone who displays virtue or is in an enviable position of power. (See [https://plato.stanford.edu/entries/egalitarianism/ ''Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy'': egalitarianism (plato.stanford.edu)].) It is a form of hatred of the good and of moral-ethical leadership (''auctoritas''). They want no heroes or leaders of admirable character, and outwardly act as if they do not believe such people could possibly be what they seem to be and have tasked themselves with the mission of unmasking them as frauds who have betrayed the public trust.
