Jeffries was selected by [[Speaker Nancy Pelosi]] to be the chairman of the House Democratic Caucus in the 116th Congress. Jeffries defended Democratic colleagues [[Rashida Tlaib]] and [[Ilhan Omar]] support for the [[BDS]] movement as the opinions of "thoughtful colleagues." Tlaib is a member of a [[Facebook]] group that posts [[anti-Semitic]] videos and memes.
