Wikipedia and many historians also use the terms "liberal" and "left-wing" and "conservative" and "right-wing" both interchangeably and intercontinentally and they combine Europe's political spectrum with America's political spectrum which is why it's also believed by many that Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist German Workers' Party were right-wing and why they're commonly placed on the American right when the fact is that they're centre-left and only right-wing in Europe because Europe's political right does not extend as far as America's and fascism is a mixed economy which takes the private property element from capitalism and government control of production from communism. In Europe, the definitions of the terms liberal and conservative are reversed. Europe has never had laissez-faire economics which is considered liberal there and conservative here. Former President Barack Obama is considered among many Europeans the most conservative or right-wing president America has ever had.
