3.   I would like to challenge the Exodus dating in the lecture.  I believe that the Exodus occurred earlier, about 1700 BC.  I say this because of theories that have been circulated concerning a revised Egyptian chronology which places the Exodus at the end of the middle kingdom just prior to the Hyksos invasion.  At this time, Egypt would have been decimated from the plagues mentioned in the Bible.  According to historical data the Amalekites had been waiting for a chance to invade Egypt.  Within three months of the Hebrews leaving Egypt they encountered the Amalekite army.  It is theorized after learning what happened to the Egyptian army, pharaoh and economy, they continued west and seized the opportunity to invade Egypt, without even a fight.  The Amalekites are known in Egyptian history as the Hyksos.  My references for this answer are http://www.testimony-magazine.org/back/dec2003/hurn.pdf and http://creation.com/timing-is-everything
