::::Conservatives and Trump supporters are in the position today that blacks were in the 1950s and 1960s [[civil rights movement]]. Our rights are systematically being violate by an institutional failure of the courts, legislatures, police, media, and ingrained cultural prejudice. We need to learn to play the victim and highlight injustice. Talking about some perpetrator being arrested implies the criminal justice system is working.
:::::Recently, I had a long discussion in RW over the Masterpiece Bakery cakeshop and gay rights. The baker's First Amendment rights had to go to the Supreme Court. Liberals conclusions are that the First Amendment conflicts with anti-discrimination laws, [[hate crime]]s, and protects bigotry (i.e., free exercise of religion is bigotry). These issues are far from over, and the notion that police or a state's Civil Rights Commission are acting properly is not what this page should convey.
