==2019 leadership election==
Early in 2019, [[Vince Cable]] announced his intention to stand down as party leader. A leadership election was initiated and the two candidates are deputy leader Jo Swinson and former Energy and Climate Change Secretary Ed Davey. The election result will be announced on July 23, 2019.
