**Pre-Obama, the 1930s were considered to be the warmest period on record. Obama's "scientists" adjusted these records downward, apparently for political reasons. Every December and January, the current year is invariable proclaimed to be the "warmest on record." There is no way meaningful record keeping can be done that fast. The "Harry read me" file, released as part of the climategate emails, documents how the historical weather station record are in a hopeless mess. I use the satellite records myself. According to the [http://www.drroyspencer.com/latest-global-temperatures/ UAH record], 2016 was the warmest year on record. Which year is the warmest on record has more to do with El Nino than with global warming. [[User:PeterKa|PeterKa]] ([[User talk:PeterKa|talk]]) 03:35, 31 July 2019 (EDT)

The global temperature for 2016 was almost identical to that for 1998, which is the second warmest year on record. Which year is the warmest on record has more to do with El Nino than with global warming. [[User:PeterKa|PeterKa]] ([[User talk:PeterKa|talk]]) 03:35, 31 July 2019 (EDT)
