'''Renfrew''' is a town and former Royal Burgh to the west of [[Glasgow]] on the [[River Clyde]]. Its castle was originally the seat of the [[Stewart]] clan who became [[Scotland]]'s Royal family. The town is known as "The Cradle of the Royal Stewarts". It is generally regarded as the poor relation of its more prosperous neighbour [[Paisley]] which lies two miles to the south. Renfrew is the most [[Protestant]] town in Scotland and it is said of the town that "ye couldnae hit a Catholic wi' a haunfu' o' aromatics". Inhabitants are known as Renfboys.
