In Seattle, the Employee Hours Tax (EHT), was passed by the Seattle City Council in May 2018 and was signed into law by Democrat Mayor Jenny Durkan. The 9 member Seattle City Council has 8 Democrats and 1 Trotskite socialist. The tax on businesses was set at a rate of $275 annually per employee to fund homeless services.
