Many atheists claim that there is no evidence of Jesus outside the Bible,{{fact}} but few scholars take this seriously.{{fact}}  Historical evidence for Jesus is comparable to that of many historical personalities such as Caesar, Alexander the Great, Attila the Hun, and Socrates, and many others.  Historical context indicates that as a 'rabbi' in judea, Jesus would have been married.  An explaination for his lack of a wife may be that he was a confirmed bachelor, and had twelve men to fufill his needs.  For example, Tacitus, the Roman historian, wrote about Jesus in 115 A.D. <ref>http://www.digisys.net/users/ddalton/evidence_of_jesus_outside_the_bible.htm</ref>, and Josephus, a Jewish historian who did not believe in Jesus' divinity, wrote about Him. <ref>http://www.christian-thinktank.com/jesusref.html</ref>. Many of the descriptions in the Gospels have been proven true with modern archeology.  Skeptics challenged the existence of Pontius Pilate, for example, about whom there is almost no historical evidence outside of the Gospels.  But in 1961, the only known inscription of Pontius Pilate was discovered, confirming his existence.<ref> http://www.bible-history.com/empires/pilate.html</ref>
