It has come under criticism for its large number of lawsuits against small farmers, as well as using taxpayers' dollars to subsidize genetically modified crops. It has also been criticized for proposing the idea of privatizing water supplies in third world countries by cleaning it and selling it for a profit after their herbicides have contaminated the water. Monsanto is also responsible for producing Agent Orange, and for knowingly and illegally discharging PCB's in Anniston, Alabama. Overall, criticism of Monsanto is rampant for the various atrocious acts they have committed.
