The '''Gunpower Incident''' occurred one day after the [[Battle of Lexington and Concord]] in Williamsburg, Virginia. Lord Dunmore issued orders to remove gunpowder from the magazine in Williamsburg, which caused a huge controversy with local colonists. In response, [[Patrick Henry]] led a small militia force which demanded the return of the gunpowder.
The issue was resolved when a fair payment was made for the value of the powder.
