→Christian socialism: You don't really address my comment
Americans have a tendency to confuse communism and socialism and to ignore the significant influence of Christianity on socialism in Britain, former British colonies, and Europe. In fact socialism appears to be a synonym for communism for many Americans. Perhaps this is explained by the fact that, unlike Britain, there was a real fear of revolution in America following the Russian Revolutions of 1917. There has been some discussion of this above, but the crude distortion remains. --Timber2 (talk) 18:30, 16 May 2020 (EDT)

:Interesting; would you support the statement, "all factual, documented history, being true, is part of the Word of God"? ::A weird question. Possibly Marx, though ethnically Jewish, because he was educated in Germany was influenced by the Bible – I know little about him, having never read his biography, or Das Kapital. Christian socialism is based on the New Testament, the word of Christ, though it may have been influenced by Marx's criticism of the immoral excesses of some capitalists: those who worship Mammon. --Timber2 (talk) 19:25, 16 May 2020 (EDT)
