:I think the key point in your message was the phrase "the hard realities".  It seems that you want to make this "incest" out to be something bad.  You think that the fact that it is incest should be noted in the article, but I've never disagreed with mentioning that it occurred, but object to putting it in a way that suggests that there was something wrong with it.  Even just the use of the word "incest", although technically correct, is problematic because of the connotations surrounding the term.  As far as putting in bits that aren't in the account is concerned, I previously pointed out that you were doing that anyway.  The bits that explain that incest wasn't a problem come directly from what you want to do—applying logic to the accounts, but unlike you, I don't come with the presupposition that they are mythological stories that therefore must have problems.  [[User:Philip J. :If you re-read the edits I have made, you'll notice I haven't qualified or made suggestions about the incest other than to note its necessity. I haven't commented on it being either "bad" or "okay," because that would convey an opinionated point of view. You admit that you have discomfort with the term incest, but you wish to insert language to mitigate what you feel must be the same reaction of other readers, effectively putting a rhetorical spin on things. It is only "problematic" in your mind because you perceive a negative connotation to outweigh its accuracy and meaning. Respectfully, you have not applied logic to this issue, you've just tried to put a particular spin on it and attempt a pseudo-scientific justification without a clear understanding of genetics, mutation, or chromosome recombination. Problems only occur when one tries to bend facts and massage language in an effort to make a myth conform with reality. --[[User:TheDecider|TheDecider]] 15:40, 17 May 2007 (EDT)
