/* Phony scholarship and phony authority */
:The Catholic catechism's doctrine of "merited grace" not only corroborates this view, it highlights the disobedience or lack of faith within the Roman church's hierarchy and tradition that rejects the grace of God (as Israel in the wilderness did) in favor of law, which can only condemn and not offer salvation. ::Romans 6:14 "ye are not under law" is referring to the "law of Moses". All of Paul's references to "the law" in his writings are references to "the law of Moses". He is not saying "ye are not under authority". Compare Romans 13:1-2; 1 Timothy 4:11; 5:17; Titus 3:1. --[[User:Dataclarifier|Dataclarifier]] ([[User talk:Dataclarifier|talk]]) 09:42, 26 August 2020 (EDT)
