The more they resist the hotter they get. The truth can really burn. They need compassion, and they need the truth, even if it seems harsh as Jesus had compassion on the Sadducees and scribes and Pharisees by warning them of the truth of their hypocrisy and of God's forgiveness and mercy and judgment and wrath. We need to do as you have been doing, and persistently, and calmly, and unapologetically, always give a reason for the hope we have in the integrity of Christ and the holy scriptures. Sad that it makes them angry, but it can have a salutary effect on sinners to call them back from the error of their way if they are seeking truly to do the will of the Father.
