Fort Bend County is a county of Texas. It was once solidly Republican, and in 2016 it was a swing county. In 2020, the county was won by Joe Biden by well over double-digits,<ref>https://results.enr.clarityelections.com/TX/Fort_Bend/106714/web.264614/#/summary</ref> and now the county's judge, and his Commissioners Court increased tax rates, since he acts as commissioner, even though he is a judge, as that is law in Texas counties.<ref>https://fbindependent.com/county-can-increase-tax-rate-by-percent-without-voters-consent-thanks-to-p14229-1.htm</ref> (Note that in Fort Bend County's commissioners courts, there are 4 commissioners (2 are Republican, 2 are Democrat), plus the judge (Democrat) himself.)
