Gavrilo was the son of Marija and Petar Princip, he was born on July 25, 1894 in Obljaj.

Gavrilo was imprisoned in the Terezin Fortress until his death on April 28, 1918 brought on by poor conditions, his cause of death was Tuberculosis.
