In April 2021, ''Twitter'' allowed a racist insult against Republican Senator Tim Scott to "trend" on its site for nearly eleven hours overnight following his rebuttal speech in which he stated, "America is not a racist nation." Angry leftists flooded Twitter to call Senator Scott "Uncle Tim" and other racist slurs after he dared to declare that the United States is not a racist country, even though he had experienced some racism during his life. Previously, Scott cited having been called an "[[Uncle Tom]]" and N*gger by leftists.
