==A note on "Doom"==
A long-standing urban legend is that the boys had created a simulation of their school to use with the cult classic "Doom" and used this to train for their rampage. It *is* true that the boys were indeed huge fans of the game, and they *did* claim their rampage was going to be "just like Doom", but there is *no* evidence, nowhere, that they had actually created levels based on Columbine.
Levels created by one of the shooters DO exist, but these resemble nothing like a high school, being little more than straightforward all-out deathmatch arenas: hardly training for a high school rampage, let alone a "murder simulator", the current trend word for FPS games.
