The '''Foo Fighters''' are an American [[alternative rock]] band. It was originally formed in 1995 by [[Dave Grohl]] and currently also consists of Chris Shiflett, Nate Mendel, and Taylor Hawkins. They are famous for being the creators of [[post grunge]], after the disbandment of [[Nirvana]], Grohl's previous band. They spawned hit singles such as "Everlong," "Times Like These," "Learn To Fly," and "Best Of You". Their name comes from the nonsense word "foo", which was used to describe unknown radar blips.
