'''Super Mario Land''' is a video game for the [[Game Boy]] where Mario must save the head of state for Sarasaland, [[Princess Daisy]], from a megalomaniacal alien known as Tatanga. The sequel to the game, ''[[Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins]]'', later revealed that the plot of that game was a diversion cooked up by a doppelganger and childhood acquaintance of Mario, named Wario, in a bid to take over Mario's castle as revenge towards Mario's unintentional bullying of him when they were kids.
