The term generally has come to refer mostly to ethnic [[Arab]]s, who actually originated from other Middle Eastern countries. Some seek to create a state in parts or all of the geographic region. Those advocating the latter view often advocate the destruction of the state of [[Israel]]. Most reside in [[Gaza]], the [[West Bank]], or [[Jordan]]. The King of Jordan has refused to grant citizenship to Arab refugees from "Palestine", in part due to political pressure from other Islamic countries.
