'''Major Dad''' was a [[CBS]] [[situation comedy]] showing a [[liberal]] glimpse of America's most [[conservative]] military institution: the Marine officer corps. A marine officer played by Gerald McRaney marries a journalist, resulting in a double culture clash: not only does the Man from Mars encounter the Woman from Venus, but it's conservative vs. liberal, and most of the victories are feminine/liberal.
