Brnovich v. DNC
 +
In 2016, Arizona passed a bill to restrict ballot harvesting unless the person collecting the ballot is a family member, a person living in the same household, or a caregiver.  Brnovich intervened on behalf of the state after the Democrat Secretary of State Katie Hobbs refused to defend the law.  The U.S. Supreme Court rejected the Democratic National Committee's arguments to water down election integrity laws and upheld the law.  Justice Samuel Alito wrote the decision defending the ability of states to put voting rules in place that eliminates voter fraud.  Wanting to prevent voter fraud is, Alito made clear, a “strong and entirely legitimate state interest.”
