===ERRORS IN THIS ARTICLE===
With respect to the "blacks" section which refers to the 1930's Communist Party strategy of suggesting that blacks create a "Negro Soviet Republic" in our southern states: The Party recognized that their strategy never attracted any significant support within the black community so at their 17th National Convention in 1959, the Party discarded that strategy. FBI informants inside the Party (including delegates who attended the 1959 Convention) verified that the Party changed its 1930's strategy because nobody supported it.
With respect to this article's reference to Manning Johnson -- he was discontinued as an FBI and INS informant because he lied under oath several times in court testimony. Also, his personal opinions were limited to his knowledge about the Party in the 1930's and the FBI rejected what he claimed during the 1950's and 1960's.
