'''Washington University''' is a private [[university]]  in [[St. Louis]], Missouri, best known for its medical school.  It was co-founded by a [[Christian]] minister: “In 1853, prominent St. Louis merchant Wayman Crow and his pastor, William Greenleaf Eliot Jr., concerned about the lack of institutions of higher learning in the growing midwest, led the founding of Washington University in St. Louis.”<ref>https://wustl.edu/about/history-traditions/</ref>

In 2008, Washington University awarded [[Phyllis Schlafly]] an honorary doctorate of humane letters.  [[Liberals]] immaturely protested: "Wearing white armbands, Washington University faculty and students staged a silent protest as [[conservative]] activist [[Phyllis Schlafly]] was awarded an honorary degree." <ref>http://publicbroadcasting.net/kwmu/news.newsmain?action=article&ARTICLE_ID=1279565&sectionID=1</ref>
