It seems that China used the International Military Games in Wuhan in October 2019 to spread the virus to other countries. The article mentions blood samples taken Italy in September 2019 that that later tested positive for covid. I don't know if I buy that, but I suspect the virus was in circulation before the games. The Chinese wanted the first reported outbreak to be in a country other than China so that they could evade blame.
