In an April 2007 on-air comment, Imus referred to the [[Rutgers]] and [[Tennessee]] female basketball team players as "nappy-headed ho's."  Many media organizations and commentators publicised his comments and much of the subsequent public debate found his comments offensive. On April 12^th 2007, [[CBS]] permanently canceled Don Imus's show.
