Crenshaw has refused to speak up about the plight of the January 6 political prisoners on the grounds that he has "no power" to act in the matter.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://acecomments.mu.nu/?post=397444|title=True Conservative Superhero Dan Crenshaw: I Have No Power to Help the January 6 Political Prisoners and I Won't Even Bring Attention to Their Plight Because That Would Just be "A Performance" That Helps Me But Not Them|publisher=acecomments.mu.nu|accessdate=January 20, 2022}}</ref>

In January 2020, Crenshaw got into a public dispute at a [[Tea Party]] [[political action committee]] meeting in Montgomery County with a teen-aged girl who questioned the congressman's Christian faith in regard to a comment that Crenshaw made about [[Jesus Christ]] being "a hero archetype." Crenshaw was booed by those in attendance.<ref>{{cite web|url=https://magaconservatives.com/dan-crenshaw-heckled-by-teen-girl-gets-booed-by-crowd-for-rude-response-moron/|title=Dan Crenshaw Heckled by Teen Girl, Gets Booed by Crowd for Rude Response: ‘Moron’|publisher=magaconservatives.com|author=Gary Fenster|publisher=magaconservatives.com|date=January 18, 2022|accessdate=January 20, 2022}}</ref>
Despite his aberrations from conservative principles, it remains questionable that Crenshaw could actually lose re-nomination in the upcoming party primary, where incumbency is always a strong factor in winning.
