|1976
|PG
|Inspired by the popular song "[[Ode to Billie Joe]]" from the prior decade, a main character kills himself after a drunken homosexual relationship (something not hinted at in the song), and the preacher (portrayed positively in the song) is made into a town gossip, causing the main female character to have to leave town to save her reputation.
