The [[Chile presidential election, 2021|2021 presidential election]] was won by [[Gabriel Boric]] in the second round, the first one was won by [[José Antonio Kast]], the favorite candidate of Piñera was Sebastián Sichel, who was minister in his administration and was previously a politician from the center left (Concertación). Boric, with only 35 years, was one of the leaders of the 2011 protests, and, not even him imagined to be President after Piñera.
