|Despite having a rather decent love story for a post Ron Miller film, it has it’s problems. Feministic rebellion is rather positive due to Ariel getting what she wants, and her father King Triton being in the wrong whenever they argue, as he’s ignorant and she’s smart. Certain lyrics in “Part of Your World” express that more. “Betcha on land, they understand, that they don’t reprimand their daughters. Bright young women, sick of swimming, ready to stand!” The man of the film Prince Eric although far better than what Disney has done since, needs saving not once but twice.
Furthermore, you have a homosexual agenda in the famous song “Part of Your World” is described as an [[LGBT anthem]] as co-producer and lyricist Howard Ashman was an open homosexual, and had AIDS at the time, but his diagnosis wasn’t known by the public or anyone working on the film until after the 1990 Academy Awards.
