==Book and film==
 +
Book authored by Michael Lewis titled "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game" was published in 2003. This book is about the Oakland Athletics baseball team and its revolutionary front office executive and general manager Billy Beane. Its focus is the team's analytical, evidence-based, saber-metric approach to building a competitive team on a limited budget that can compete against teams with big-money, despite Oakland's small budget.

"Moneyball" is a 2011 American sports drama film. The film had six [[Oscar]] nominations, most for a baseball movie since 1942's "The Pride of the [[Yankees]]", including Best Picture, Best [[Actor]] (Brad Pitt), Best Supporting Actor (Jonah Hill) and Best Adapted Screenplay. The film was directed by Bennett Miller and written by Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin.
