Uniparty dominance of Deep State and appointments
The GOP doesn't deserve another chance at a red wave. The party has become intolerably corrupt, and these days a red wave would be hardly different than a blue wave. Only one person is standing in the way of the GOP going the way of the Whigs, and that is Donald Trump. Unfortunately, it appears he is too stubborn to pull the plug and allow a new party to fill the void.--Geopolitician (talk) 22:33, September 2, 2022 (EDT

:::Where did you get the idea that I hate Trump? I don't hate him, I just think his administration didn't do as much good for the conservative and populist causes as others here give him credit for. After all, he made quite a bit of hiring mistakes and at the end of the day personnel is policy.
:::That being said, my pick for 2024 is a Rand Paul-Tulsi Gabbard unity ticket. If any ticket were capable of triggering the Deep State more than Trump, it would be that one.--Geopolitician (talk) 23:50, September 2, 2022 (EDT)
::::Trump's "hiring mistakes" are not his hiring mistakes. The president can no longer hire the people he chooses (e.g. Mike Flynn, Sheriff Clarke, etc.) Call it Deep State institutional corruption. The liberal media was certainly very happy with the nomination. ::::::Wray had just represented Gazprom, i.e. colluded with Russia, an allegation at the heart of the Carter Page FISA warrant and a key issue in Comey's firing. :::::::Many of Trump's bad appointees had red flags that could be easily found through simple online research. Unfortunately, most so-called conservative media outlets refused to cover those red flags until it was too late because they either (a) were cowards who would rather tell their audience what they wanted to hear than tell them the ugly truth; or (b) were closet Deep State shills who wanted those bad appointees to get in because they were Deep Staters.
:::::::Perhaps the most blatant example of this is John Bolton. Anyone who did the slightest bit of research on him would know that he was a neocon warmonger, but when Trump picked him to be NSA most so-called conservative media outlets worked overtime to publish revisionist history depicting him as MAGA with "tough guy" tendencies (unfortunately I fell for that propaganda, at least in the beginning). It was only after Trump fired Bolton and Bolton wrote a book, that those same media outlets began telling the truth. And even then, they sent a message to their audience that neocon warmongers are neocon warmongers if and only if they don't like Trump, or vice versa. Which of course is a total lie, and demonstrates that when push comes to shove these media outlets have the same level of contempt for their audience that the ABC, CBS, CNN, and NBC have for theirs.--Geopolitician (talk) 15:02, September 4, 2022 (EDT)
::::::::Go to the Deep State article, and click on the link to the Senior Executive Service (SES). That's the Deep State. You have to have your name on that list to qualify for all the Senior positions that require security clearances in all Departments, agencies, and the White House. Guys like Bolton or Wray just turned out to be the best choices of among a bunch of bad candidates. Republicans for the most part work in the private sector, and Dems dominate the SES. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 16:51, September 4, 2022 (EDT)
::::::::The SES for the most part are career civil service officials. Once in a while someone is needed for a senior position from outside government. Many Treasury officials for example, come from Wall Street. In recent years, people from Silicon Valley have secured some of these senior positions. There are other ways outside government to get on the list as a Senior Executive official, for example, membership in the CFR. Business officials who do work outside the U.S. and have contact with foreigners are encouraged to join the CFR (membership is by invitation only). Once a member of CFR, then you have to abide by CFR rules (for example, if you suspect that you were contacted by a Russian or Chinese intelligence operative, you are suppose to report that to the FBI.) So a CFR member with no record of civil service can be fast-tracked into the SES if he or she gets an appointment requiring Senate confirmation.
::::::::Trump's problem was, he was never a member of anything, not the CFR nor SES, or whatever other "partnerships" the federal government has. Nobody in the SES trusted him. Brennan spoke openly of denying Trump as President, intelligence briefings - which Biden now has done. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 17:18, September 4, 2022 (EDT)
:::::::::If the SES was and is the problem, then the solution was and is to abolish it by repealing and replacing the legislation which authorizes its existence, the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978. ::Again, I am going to point to the Alger Hiss case to explain how and why the modern SES came into existence, as a closed-off community from outsiders, and resistance to outside influence or control. Stan Evans Blacklisted by History gives a good picture of what the system in D.C. was up until the 1950s that allowed the KGB to place high-level operatives in the State Depart, Treasury, White House, Pentagon, Manhattan Project and other key agencies and projects.
::As a reform measure now, the FBI (not OMB) is in charge of all hiring for senior level positions in the U.S. government. All candidates must pass an FBI background check. Since passage of the Patriot Act and expansion of the intelligence community and National Security Staff (NSC), Obama cronies have taken over the FBI, Pentagon, NSC, etc.; from J. Edgar Hoover to Barack Obama, leftists and "pinkos" were discriminated in hiring to Senior government positions. Now the tables have turned, and Obama pinkos are having their revenge for decades of discrimination based on ideological commitment (call it CRT come home to roost, only its not racial, it's ideological). I was worried that I might be a full-blown fascist. But guess what? It turns out that as a MAGA Republican, I'm only a semi-fascist, according to Joe Biden. Phew! That's a relief. But why does Biden object to the idea of making America great? When talking about our forty-sixth president, its always a challenge to avoid using the R word. "MAGA Republicans do not respect the Constitution," he said. This was immediately after his attempt override the constitution and the laws enacted by Congress by forgiving student loans. The most privileged people in America, those who went to college without paying for it, are getting a break. The endless investigation, and now likely prosecution, of Trump is an even more serious violation of constitutional traditions. What's Trump's crime? The Libs can't give us any coherent explanation. Their main beef is that was elected president, thereby deposing Hillary. That's something the Dems have never forgiven him for. == Sarah Palin loses to ranked-choice voting ==
Alaska's new election system of ranked-choice voting has apparently confused Republican voters and led to the defeat of Sarah Palin in a recent special election for the House of Representatives. The winner, Democrat Mary Peltola, got only 40 percent of the vote. As the purpose of an election is to create "consent of the governed," that is to say, a winner who can claim the support of a majority, this is not an ideal outcome.
Under the Alaskan system, there is a non-partisan primary. The top four vote getters go on the general election, where voters rank the candidates. Why four? This is an obvious flaw in the system. If only the top two primary vote getters went on to the general election, one or the other would always get a majority. Some Republican voters may not have understood what they were supposed to do and voted for only one candidate in the general election. Ranked-choice voting is a method of generating proportional representation. But Alaska has only one house district, so proportional representation is impossible. Mathematically, ranking candidates is a pointless activity. If you allow people to vote for more than one candidate, the result is the same. This is called approval voting, or "one man, n votes." Approval voting also avoids the need to have separate primary and general elections. The motivation for all the election reform recently is to promote less partisan candidates, which I think is a valid goal.
In any event, Alaska's election system is what it is. Republicans need to do a better job of educating voters for the expected Palin-Peltola rematch in November. The American Spectator argues that RCV makes more sense in a primary than in a general election. I would argue non-partisan primaries that use approval voting make even more sense.PeterKa (talk) 22:56, September 4, 2022 (EDT)
:Very interesting and well put. Thank you. I would offer only one criticism: The Civil War era rhetoric that empowered African Americans with the vote, "one man, one vote", obviously is racist, sexist, bigoted and homophobic by federal law now and Democrat House rules and should be changed to "one person, n votes", if that makes any sense. == The future of Russia. The low birth rate of Ukraine/Russia and the two parties coming to the bargaining table ==
RobS wrote: "User:Conservative has written off Russia because of a low birth rate, but doesn't seem to understand how valuable children are to a society with a low birth rate. They feel the whole nation is being hunted and exterminated."
The low birth rate of Russia and Ukraine is one of the factors that may eventually drive Ukraine/Russia to the bargaining table. In the Soviet-Afghanistan War, Soviet mothers complaining about the only sons dying in the war put pressure on the Kremlin. But economic factors will play a big role too obviously.
A few additional points:
1. In 20219, Russia has 1.50 births per woman. A replacement level of births is 2.1 births per woman. And there is not a large amount of people who want to emigrate to Russia. On top of this, young soldiers are dying in Ukraine. In addition, Russia is now experiencing a brain drain. A society with a greying population puts a lot of strain on younger people.
2. The family is the fundamental building block of society. Russia has the highest rate of divorce in the world according to the most recent UN statistics. Regardless of what statistics you use, Russia has a high divorce rate compared to the rest of the world.
3. The father is considered the head of the family according to the Bible and a large percentage of the cultures around the world. Russia has the second highest rate of alcoholism among males. Drunk fathers is one of the reasons why Russia has one of the highest divorce rates in the world.
4. Should Jesus tarrry and the following events, occur Russia will diminish in importance as far as being an oil/gas producer: Present global warming alarmism fad dies down in importance, USA increase its gas/oil production; UK increase its gas production; nuclear power increasing, solar technology will become more efficient over time.
But Russia still produces a lot of wheat and it is going to take a awhile for economically alternatives to oil/gas to be invented/improved. It takes time and R&D dollars to improve technology.
Now Russia is going to remain a major power for some time, but its future does not look bright as far as the living standards Russian people.
Lastly, there are Bible believers who believe that Russia is Gog in a prophecy by the prophet Ezekial and Russia will play a part in end times. To be frank, I don't know much about this topic. Conservative (talk) 12:09, September 5, 2022 (EDT)

:::Long story short: Stesko was begging Hitler for more help to fight Russians while Hitler was contemplating suicide in the basement; fast forward 40 years: Reagan invited him into the Oval Office. In 1991, Stesko's widow became leader of the new 'independent Ukraine' majority party. But that's only half the story. After 1991, Republicans dropped associations with Ukrainian Nazis, seeing them as more racist than just anti-communist. So the Ukronazis joined up with the Democrat Ethnic Outreach Committee, headed by Alexandra Chalupa after 'independence' in 1991. Ukronazis like Chalupa and Alexander Vindman not only interfered with American democracy in the 2016 election, they conspired to get Trump impeached. ===Conservative anti-communism vs fascism===
Many conservatives such as Joe McCarthy and Alexander Solzhenitsyn have always walked a fine line between anti-communism and the anti-Bolshevik racism advocated by Adolf Hitler. I know where that line is. Since 1991 and 'Ukrainian independence', the totalitarian fascists have won political rights in Ukrainian politics and society. Since 2014, the totalitarian fascists hold key positions in the Ukrainian government, NATO, and the European Union. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 20:54, September 7, 2022 (EDT)
:Hitler framed the Bolshevik Revolution and subsequent Russian Civil War in purely racial terms. In his demented mind it wasn't about communism vs. capitalism, but about Jews and Slavs vs. Germanics. To paraphrase:
::"Es war einmal Russia was ruled by a social order constructed by and led by an aristocracy of mostly Germanic blood. But one day the eeeeeeevil Jews decided that they wanted to overthrow that social order as part of their never-ending plan to take over the world. So they recruited a bunch of low-IQ Slavs and Turks to revolt and overthrow the Germanics. Now it is up to Germany to restore the Germanics as the rightful rulers of Russia, and integrate the natives into Germanic civilization once and for all. The more racially pure Slavs are to be retroactively proclaimed Germanic, while the less racially pure Slavs and of course the Jews go to death camps. And then Russia will live happily ever after. Das Ende."
:During Operation Barbarossa, this absurd narrative gained a lot of traction in areas occupied by German forces. This was particularly true in the Baltics, Moldova, the Russian Caucasus, southern and western Ukraine, the Volga region, and western Belarus, all which had significant German populations at the time. In Ukraine in particular, adding fuel to the fire was the facts that the Ukrainian population had born the brunt of Stalin's own genocidal policies, and that some (but not all or even a majority) of the chief perpetrators of the Holodomor were Jewish. The effects of the German occupation of these regions are apparent to this day.--Geopolitician (talk) 00:30, September 8, 2022 (EDT)
::On a similar note, I've noticed that there's actually a competing anti-Semitic conspiracy theory concerning Ukraine circulating among Nazbol circles. In this version, Jews orchestrated the collapse of the USSR and the rise of the 90s-era oligarchs to "punish" Russia for supporting the Arabs in the Arab-Israeli conflict. Then Putin came to power and restored Russia's glory, so the Jews decided to get revenge for orchestrating the Maidan coup in Ukraine. Yes, you read all that correctly. These people really are saying that Russia is the anti-Semitic crusader and that Ukraine is the Jewish puppet state, rather than the other way around as promoted by the Azov Battalion. And whenever someone points out to them that Putin wants to "de-Nazify" Ukraine, they just double down and claim that Nazism itself is a Jewish conspiracy.--Geopolitician (talk) 00:52, September 8, 2022 (EDT)
:::I was with you for the first three paragraphs. I couldn't put it more succinctly myself. To bring it up to the present day, I think it's too early to tell. A guy like Kolomoisky, Azov's sugar daddy, he's just in it for himself. There's no ideological agenda. Hiring Nazis is just the way things are done in Ukraine, IMO. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 09:29, September 8, 2022 (EDT)
::::Don't be too surprised that alternate theory exists. After all, these are Nazbols we're talking about here. These are the people who aspire to be the ultimate synthesis of Communism and Fascism, so of course they'll be building narratives which jump back and forth between Communist and Fascist talking points. Of course don't point out to them that they like to blame Jews for corrupting if not outright creating the ideologies they claim to be descended from, or else they might call you a Jew for daring to disagree with them!
::::Actually, it's possible to argue that Nazbols are even more anti-Semitic than either Communists or Fascists. Because while Communists and Fascists are anti-Semitic themselves, they tend to have standards as to what to blame on Jews and what not to blame on Jews. Nazbols on the other hand take those standards and throw them in the toilet, and consequently they tend to be quite ideologically dishonest to say the least.--Geopolitician (talk) 14:46, September 8, 2022 (EDT)
:::::Ukronazis oppose decommunization of Ukraine. No, wait. It would be a mistake to phrase it that way, but the reasoning is very telling. Ukronazis oppose people who publicly express support for Ukrainian decommunization, and will put your name on one of its many hitlists. It should be noted, these are NATOs prime defenders of Western civilization. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 19:08, September 8, 2022 (EDT)
::::::Why would Ukrainian Nazis oppose decommunization? Don't they associate Communism with Russia? If so, why would they oppose erasing all traces of the Soviet era from Ukrainian soil? Or are you referring to a different kind of Communism? What am I missing here?--Geopolitician (talk) 00:39, September 9, 2022 (EDT)
:::::::It's the twin anti-democratic, totalitarian mindset. They are enemies of democracy. While Nazis can win seats in the Rada from certain districts in Western Ukraine, overall across the country they get about 2.5% of the vote. So they use backstairs methods to get into the civil service, military, and security services.
:::::::Then you need to fully understand the level of corruption and violence common in Ukrainian society. Kolomoisky (and others) originally hired Nazi football hooligans to defend their businesses. Since 2014, local police deputize them to patrol the streets. So at its heart, communism and other forms of socialism believe in the use of coercion and force, not persuasion and the ballot box. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 01:20, September 9, 2022 (EDT)
::::::::As a functional society, Ukraine didn't have much of a criminal justice system prior to 2014, given the level of poverty , a limited tax base, and corruption. So while the central government relied on secret police and intimidation, local businesses hired goons (Nazi football hooligans had the best or worst, depending on perspective, reputation as street fighters). After 2014, these organized Nazi groups in the pay of local businessmen and oligarchs, were incorporated into the Ministry of Interior as the Territorial Defense; others like Kraken or Azov were incorporated into the Ministry of the Interior's 40,000 strong armed services.
::::::::So the territorial defense patrols the streets, rousting homeless Gypsie squatters and beating up shoplifters. In more recent years, they beat up Russian speakers for violating the central government's language laws. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 03:49, September 9, 2022 (EDT)
:::::::::So Ukrainian Nazis oppose decommunization because they are anti-democratic totalitarians? Maybe in an alternate timeline where Communism and Fascism never diverged into separate distinct ideologies, but not in our timeline.
:::::::::In our timeline Nazis generally support decommunization, because they want to replace Communism with Nazism. The only exceptions are Strasserists, who identify as Nazis but are Nazbols in all but name. And it's more than obvious that groups like the Azov Battalion are not Strasserists because Strasserists are generally pro-Russia.--Geopolitician (talk) 21:27, September 11, 2022 (EDT)

:::::::::::You seem to be referring to the "skinhead" types who identify as Nazis and admire Hitler solely because he was a racist, anti-Semitic mass murderer. Does the Azov Battalion fall in that category?--Geopolitician (talk) 14:13, September 13, 2022 (EDT)
::::::::::::It's how the Nazi movement was legitimized and gained traction in post-Obama Ukraine. Nazi football hooligans were recruited, hired, and trained into militias, originally by Jewish oligarchs, then officially incorporated into the post-Maidan Ministry of Interior.
::::::::::::We can say there are two types: (1) young skinheads, say teens into early 20s, who beat up people. They serve in the Territorial Defense. These groups are akin to the Sturmabteilung. (2) More serious vicious killers, say mostly mid 20s on up. These make up the Kraken group, C4, Pravy Sektor, Azov, Aidar, etc. These groups are akin to the Shutz Staffel.
::::::::::::Since February and the Russian incursion, the Territorial Defense has become much larger and more diverse, with men in their 30s and 40s on up, who signed up to avoid conscription into the regular army. A lot of these people are regular family men, and not really tainted by a corrupt ideology. Many were sent to the front lines in Donbas as cannon fodder and killed in artillery strikes, while regular Ministry of Defense AFU forces and Ministry of Interior Nazis groups were held back in reserve.
::::::::::::Since the fall of Azovstal, the Kraken group (based in Kharkiv) has replaced Azov as the most prominent. One of their main roles is to function like Red Army Commissars did during WWII, executing deserters and people who refuse to fight or attempt to surrender. Another role is reprisals against civilian "collaborators", which is ongoing in the recently acquired, predominantly ethnic Russian villages in Kharkiv Oblast right now.
::::::::::::The various groups have different names cause they originated in different localities. Azov, for example, originated in Lviv under a different name, and was relocated to Mariupol in 2015 to harass the local ethnic Russians. It then took its name from the Sea of Azov, but it is not indigenous to the area. They essentially held Mariupol as their feudal fiefdom since 2015, harassing the locals. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 14:58, September 13, 2022 (EDT)
:::::::::::::So let's ask the question: Why did so many (though not exclusively) Jewish oligarch's employ Nazi skinheads and militias in the early 2010s? I can only speculate to one possible answer: cause they viewed Russia as their main enemy, particularly after Russia's entrance into the Syrian war. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 15:15, September 13, 2022 (EDT)
::::::::::::::It's obvious that they view Russia as their main enemy, although the reason why they view Russia as their main enemy is up for debate. One theory that is often promoted by Nazbols and even some Nazis is that the Jewish oligarchs want revenge for the pogroms waged against their ancestors during the reigns of Alexander III and Nicholas II. Another theory that is often promoted by these same people is that the Jewish oligarchs want revenge for their counterparts in Russia itself being put in their place after Putin became President in 2000. And yet another theory often promoted by these same people is that Israel was the true mastermind behind the Syrian war, and that the Jewish oligarchs are acting on Israel's behalf to sabotage Russia's intervention in that conflict.
::::::::::::::Out of those three theories, the last one is the closest to the truth. The Maidan coup was indeed orchestrated by those who wanted to sabotage Russia's intervention in Syria, but the actual mastermind was not Israel, but Barack Obama.--Geopolitician (talk) 16:52, September 14, 2022 (EDT)
:::::::::::::::Yah, I can agree with all of that at face value (without even getting into specifics, like Gonzalo Lira's 2 hour exposé on Victoria Nuland's hatred of Russia going back to her grandfather, or the case of U.S. tax cheat and UK citizen Bill Browder, inspiration for the Magnitsky Act, the original Russia sanctions bill). Understanding the background, however, leaves out one important fluke that occurred during the Maidan coup; and that is the Crimean Annexation. While the coup was well thought out and orchestrated - without consultation from EU allies - Nuland, McCain, and other coup plotters evidently did not anticipate Putin's reaction by seizing the Crimea, which (1) was a colossal embarrassment for Obama, tarnished his reputation and legacy of his administration, and made hatred for Putin personal in the Obama cult; and (2) has shaped all events since the coup until now. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 17:51, September 14, 2022 (EDT)
::::::::::::::::I don't understand where you're going here. You say you agree with "all of that at face value", with the "that" consisting of three theories and a fourth theory which refutes the first three. If you think there's an element of truth to all four of those theories, can you explain what those elements of truth are?--Geopolitician (talk) 13:38, September 15, 2022 (EDT)
:::::::::::::::::The first three all are soundly plausible and well-reasoned; the fourth is premature speculation. Like your railings against Saudi Arabia, you tend to attribute the actions of private individuals and a few oligarchs as government policy. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 14:54, September 15, 2022 (EDT)
::::::::::::::::::In that case, I suppose you disagree with the part of the third theory which says the oligarchs are acting on Israel’ behalf, in the sense that they are Israeli agents and that Bibi Netanyahu was the true mastermind of the Maidan.--Geopolitician (talk) 12:40, September 16, 2022 (EDT)
:::::::::::::::::::Well, yah. We know who did it, Nuland & McCain. We know why. Obama's only culpable in that he wrote a blank check. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 15:50, September 16, 2022 (EDT)
::::::::::::::::::::Yep. We can go on and on about whether the state is responsible for the actions of powerful individuals in different cases. But in this one, and precisely for the reason you pointed out above, I think we can both agree what happened in Ukraine is the responsibility of state actors.--Geopolitician (talk) 12:31, September 17, 2022 (EDT)
:::::::::::::::Putin made Obama, the Nobel Peace Prize winner, look like a fool with the seizure of Crimea. US warmongers now want revenge for Putin tarnishing Obama's legacy. And it's hard to separate the original motives for the coup from their thirst for revenge. Things have proceeded along a much more hurried timetable ever since because of Putin's disruption of their original plan. RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 18:05, September 14, 2022 (EDT)
::::::::::::::::I don't know if Obama expected Putin to retaliate by taking Crimea. What I do know is that (1) Obama isn't ideologically aligned with neocons like Nuland and McCain; but (2) Obama chose to ally with them anyway because he had a personal vendetta against Putin. Obama's pet project was the Arab Spring, which he hoped would lead to the rise of a Sunni Islamist caliphate. Yes the neocons wanted that too, but Obama's motivations had more to do with his general Islamophilia than with wanting to undermine Russia's national interests and national security. That being said, the turning point almost certainly was the "Red Line" incident in September 2013. After that, Obama was so hellbent on revenge that he probably would've gone through with the Maidan coup, neocons or no neocons.
::::::::::::::::Since then, the DNC establishment has been strongly allied with the neocons. They may not necessarily agree with the neocons ideologically, but their number one concern is getting revenge for Putin hurting their false messiah's massive ego.--Geopolitician (talk) 13:38, September 15, 2022 (EDT)
:::::::::::::::::I think you see what I see: much anti-Putin and anti-Russian propaganda is less inspired by geopolitical realities than it is an emotional response to blaming Putin for Obama's biggest failures. :::The nationalist movement in Ukraine didn’t just happen; it took years to build. It's been growing for years, nurtured by western curators and supported by western funds. By the beginning of the Maidan, an entire network of neo-nazi units had already been up and running in Ukraine, but the Ukrainian government didn’t prosecute them. Ready and able military and terrorist units dispersed and showed up at anti-Maidan meetings in Ukraine’s cities. The years 2019 and 2020 saw meetings and protests in Kiev demanding the denial of special status for the DNR and LNR breakaway regions.
:::One of its main goals was to form an ideology that would dehumanise Russians and break all ties that existed for decades before. Initially, Russians weren't seen as a minority in Ukraine, but the anti-Russian sentiment gradually became overwhelming. Nationalists have been taught how to lead a war on social media, eventually launching a guided communication battle against the Russian people.
:::Stepan Bandera was the head of the Ukrainian nationalist organisation in 1929. In 1934, the Gestapo accepted the Berlin chapter of the organisation — he organised terrorist acts, killing officials. In 1941, the Ukrainian nationalist organisation was responsible for the biggest Jewish pogrom in Lvov, killing about 7,000 people. Yet, in 2010, Stepan Bandera was pronounced a national hero, with torch-lit marches in his honour ever since.

:I'm just noting the obvious. Much of Europe/UK became scoffers or indifferent to God. The Bible says, "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap." (Galatians 6:7). "I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them." ===Rod Dreher: Charles is a conservative, but a different kind of conservative===
An interesting take from Rod Dreher of The American Conservative.
:"The heir to one of the world’s oldest monarchies, a traditionalist? You don’t say. But Charles’s traditionalism is far from the stuffy, bland, institutional conservatism typical of a man of his rank. Charles, in fact, is a philosophical traditionalist, which is a rather more radical position to hold."
:"He is an anti-modernist to the marrow, which doesn’t always put him onside with the Conservative Party. Charles’s support for organic agriculture and other green causes, his sympathetic view of Islam, and his disdain for liberal economic thinking have earned him skepticism from some on the British right. (“Is Prince Charles ill-advised, or merely idiotic?” the Tory libertarian writer James Delingpole once asked in print.) And some Tories fear that the prince’s unusually forceful advocacy endangers the most traditional British institution of all: the monarchy itself."
:"Others, though, see in Charles a visionary of the cultural right, one whose worldview is far broader, historically and otherwise, than those of his contemporaries on either side of the political spectrum. In this reading, Charles’s thinking is not determined by post-Enlightenment categories but rather draws on older ways of seeing and understanding that conservatives ought to recover. “All in all, the criticisms of Prince Charles from self-styled ‘Tories’ show just how little they understand about the philosophy they claim to represent,” says the conservative philosopher Roger Scruton."
:"Scruton’s observation highlights a fault line bisecting latter-day Anglo-American conservatism: the philosophical split between traditionalists and libertarians. In this way, what you think of the Prince of Wales reveals whether you think conservatism, to paraphrase the historian George H. Nash, is essentially about the rights of individuals to be what they want to be or the duties of individuals to be what they ought to be."--Geopolitician (talk) 23:28, September 8, 2022 (EDT)

RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 17:57, September 10, 2022 (EDT)
::Many Banderites fled west to Poland and Germany; active resistance against Stalin and the Red Army continued til 1954 (with CIA assistance). But Stalin considered anyone not part of the partisan resistance to be a Banderite. Banderites that were captured and not executed on the spot were shipped off to Siberia. Hence, the Maidan regime is Bandera's revenge against the Russian people (i.e. the Russian people, not communism. That's why it's so confusing, cause the Russian people were as much victims of communism as the Ukrainians. Only Ukrainians have turned their political animosity toward oppression into ethnic hatred. Just as with the German's in East Germany, the Russians refused to become like the Nazis and harbor ethnic hatred toward the Germans or Ukrainians who fought against them. :::Let's carry this analytical discussion one step further: like the German people who consider themselves victims of Nazism, Russians likewise consider themselves victims of communism. The kill ratio has been over 10:1 since February. I don't think Russians have suffered anywhere near that during the "counteroffensive", and I've kept my own estimates since February, which have held up and been borne out by later reporting. I doubt 400 Russians have been killed this month, maybe the casualty rate is that high, with about 25% KIA, but we need more info before saying anything definitive. While Western MSM has always been boastful and prone to massive exaggeration, Western MSM has been strangely silent on Russian dead in the counteroffensive. Probably cause they have the whole Russian force killed off already, according to the CIA. There's barely 60,000 Russian combat troops in Ukraine right now, which is why 200,000 NATO and Ukrainian forces have been able to seize vacated territory held by the Russians, albeit at a disproportionate huge cost (in line with the Russian overall objective of "demilitarization".)RobSIch bin ein breakfast taco 03:42, September 19, 2022 (EDT)
