== History ==
Although Sugar was for a long-time one of the Labour Party's largest donors, Sugar left Labour in May 2015, shortly after that year's general election. He cited the party's anti-business and anti-enterprise policies as his main reason for ceasing his involvement in the party.
During the 2016 London Mayoral election campaign, Sugar urged voters not to vote for Labour's far-left candidate [[Sadiq Khan]].
Sugar supported the failed campaign for the UK to remain in the globalist and socialist European Union in the June 2016 referendum on that subject.<ref>[https://www.cityam.com/eu-referendum-lord-sugar-backs-remain-camp/ EU referendum: Lord Sugar backs Remain camp over Brexit]</ref>
In July 2019, Sugar supported Boris Johnson during that month's Conservative Party leadership election. Sugar later supported the Conservative Party at that year's UK general election.
