Passages in the [[Gospel of Mark]] and [[Gospel of Luke]] recount disciples eating ears of corn on the [[Sabbath]].  "Corn" and the [[Greek]] word for it is broader than [[maize]] and could have included grain, but ears of corn can be more attractive than ears of grain.  Throughout the 20th century historians taught that maize originated only in [[North America]] and was only brought to [[Europe]] by explorers such as [[Christopher Columbus]].

Though not [[politically correct]], more sophisticated research in the 21st century shows that [[maize]] originated in [[Germany]] and northern Europe early enough to disprove the [[atheistic]] theory that it only originated in North America.

Really?  Plant-breeding by [[Native Americans]]? Though not [[politically correct]], more sophisticated research in the 21st century reinforces the [[Gospels]] by showing that [[maize]] originated in [[Germany]] and northern Europe early enough to disprove the [[atheistic]] theory that it originated only in North America.
