== 2 Maccabees 12:13-16 clearly shows the Saints in Heaven (even OT Saints like Abraham, Jeremiah, Onias etc) are alive and pray for us ==

2 Macc 12:13 "After this there appeared also another man, admirable for age, and glory, and environed with great beauty and majesty:
 +
 +
14 Then Onias answering, said: This is a lover of his brethren, and of the people of Israel: this is he that prayeth much for the people, and for all the holy city, Jeremias the prophet of God.
 +
 +
15 Whereupon Jeremias stretched forth his right hand, and gave to Judas a sword of gold, saying:
 +
 +
16 Take this holy sword a gift from God, wherewith thou shalt overthrow the adversaries of my people Israel."

The Feast of the Dedication (Jn 10:22) mentioned in the Gospel of St. John is straight from the Book of Maccabees. As mentioned elsewhere, Maccabees was in the Canon for over a 1000 years before Mr. Martin Luther took it out: "It was also determined that besides the Canonical Scriptures nothing be read in the Church under the title of divine Scriptures. The Canonical Scriptures are these: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, Joshua the son of Nun, Judges, Ruth, four books of Kings, 3 two books of Paraleipomena, 4 Job, the Psalter, five books of Solomon, 5 the books of the twelve prophets, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezechiel, Daniel, Tobit, Judith, Esther, two books of Esdras, 6 two books of the Maccabees." (3rd Council of Carthage, 397 A.D.).

Yes, the Sadducees and others heretically denied the Resurrection and that the Saints in Heaven are alive, but the Bible refutes both.
 +
 +
See Mark 12: "26But concerning the dead rising, have you not read about the burning bush in the Book of Moses, how God told him, ‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? 27He is not the God of the dead, but of the living. You are badly mistaken!”

The Sadducees accepted only the Pentateuch, hence Christ refuted them from those Books itself. God, the God of Abraham and Isaac, is the God of the Living. This means that Abraham and Isaac are living in Heaven, not dead. To say otherwise is to have become a Sadducee.
