|This film, unlike the other three American Tale films, definitely has a liberal bent.  Not only does it vilify businessmen (though it, I suppose, was mocking the Robber Barons and might have had some merit in that regard.)  What is harder to excuse pushing the point of white/European guilt of what happened to the Native Americans, even making Fievel, who himself fled from a bad situation in Russia, somehow feel responsible for the plight of the Native American mice.  This film and the negative reception were ultimately responsible for the death of the American Tale franchise.
