The Proclamation of 1763 was a law passed by Britain concerning the 13 American colonies. After the [[French and Indian War]], Britain wanted to ensure that the colonies would not be attacked by Native Americans, so the Proclamation drew a line down the [[Appalachain Mountains]]. However, as many colonists had fought in the war and lost family, they were angry that they could not settle the land they had just fought for. Combined with the [[Intolerable Acts]], [[Stamp Act]], and [[Boston Tea Party]], the American colonists grew unhappy of the tyranny of King George, leading to the [[American Revolution]].
