On November, 2006 Mayor McMahon was struck a stinging defeat by city voters, when his trash bill was defeated.  The main reason for the defeat was when Mayor McMahon made the issure more about himself then the citizens of the city after in a burst of anger at The Marvel Ranch tore down signs in the window that were against his trash bill.  All of this happened right in front of Reading Police Chief Bill Heim.  While it is illegal to do what the Mayor did, Cheif Heim refused to enforce the law and arrest him.
