|A biographical war film directed by [[Mel Gibson]], it follows American Christian pacifist combat medic Desmond Doss, who had served in World War 2. While swearing to never use or carry a firearm, he risks his life to retrieve and save 75 wounded soldiers all on his own, later awarded the Medal of Honor for service above and beyond the call of duty during the Battle of Okinawa. He also stands for his right to not carry a gun if he chooses not to, with his father showing a letter saying that the Act of Congress protects that right.
